Sun Exchange, a universal peer-to-peer solar cell leasing platform, secured $3 million investment from RCH’s Africa Renewable Power Fund with a Series-A funding round.

Sun Exchange has developed an award-winning global online solar leasing platform that redefines the solar asset ownership experience. The platform brings together project installers (EPCs) and commercial Energy Consumers in emerging markets with solar cell owners across the world. The company provides multi-currency, blockchain-secured payment flows including Bitcoin and real-time performance tracking, as well as market leading customer service and active project monitoring.

SunExchange has successfully financed solar projects with combined capacity of 750 MW since its establishment.

The funds raised will allow the platform to evolve its solution and expand into new markets across Sub-Saharan Africa to power schools, clinics, farms, cell towers, water treatment plants and businesses. It will also enable to bolster Sun Exchange marketing activities to substantially grow their membership base.
